Dick Cheney makes surprise appearance at CPAC event to honor Rumsfeld

A nice moment at CPAC…great to see Donald Rumsfeld and surprise guest Dick Cheney, looking fit and both in fine rhetorical form



Rumsfeld was here to receive the Defender of the Constitution award from the hosts of CPAC, and not surprisingly dedicated the award to the men and women serving in the armed forces, both past and present.

There was a little excitement when Cheney walked on stage. An individual who may have been a Ron Paul supporter (Rand Paul spoke about half an hour earlier in the same room) stood up and yelled “War criminal!” over the applause in the crowded conference room. Security immediately escorted him out of the room and the presentation continued.
