Egypt foreign minister criticises US calls for change
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-12413840
<snip>
Rejecting a US demand to lift a state of emergency, Ahmed Aboul Gheit said Washington should not "impose" its will on "a great country".

In his PBS interview, Mr Aboul Gheit said Egypt was enduring an "upheaval", and was sharply critical of US statements on Egypt, including Vice-President Joe Biden.

Explicit calls from Mr Biden for "prompt, immediate" action from Egypt were tantamount to "imposing your will" on a long-time ally of the US, Mr Aboul Gheit said.

On the issue of Egypt's emergency law, in place for four decades, Mr Aboul Gheit described himself as "amazed" by Mr Biden's reported comments for it to be lifted.

1. Whilst the state of emergency should be lifted
it is quite laughable that the US should interject only now when it suits them.

2. All the US had to do was immediately withdraw funds for
Egypt but we both know that the US has been in bed with despots and dictators for decades.

3. Especially given
that its US aid which funds the Egyptian Central Security Force. In the absense of that funding it probably wouldn't exist or certainly not all 300,000 of them.

I forgot to say :hi:
