Rachel Maddow's latest reports on Egypt
Rachel featured two excellent reports on Egypt tonight: one on the role of the Egyptian military in the crisis, and the other an interview with Professor Mona El-Ghobashy, Assistant Professor of Political Science at Barnard College.

The latter was the better of the two, with Prof. El Ghobashy's eloquent and incisive assessment of the actions and reactions of the regime and the protesters.

In case you missed it, the videos of all segments are here:

The Egypt segments are the 5th and 6th on the scroll at the left.

... I can. I'm currently uploading videos to my YouTube channel and posting them in the videos forum.

As soon as I can spare the bandwidth and have the time I'll definitely watch after your recommendation.

:hi:

Bookmarked in My DU for a return later. ;-)

3. I know you've been busy...
...bringing a lot of important information here. I even saw you "called out" for all your work in another thread here. :toast:

Hope all is going well for you and your wonderful wife in Indonesia. It was a treat to see you point out Indonesia as an example of what a relatively peaceful revolution can mean.

I love your threads! Great stuff! :fistbump:

6. Thanks for the direct links
That second segment was especially worth watching.

I was so impressed to hear someone who is "only" an assistant professor provide such cogent analysis. The networks consider big celebrities a good "get." I don't know how Rachel stumbled onto her, but this professor was a good get.

8. Wasn't she though!
I love Rachel. She breaks it down.

I've liked Anderson Cooper's coverage lately too. He dared call Mubarak a liar.
Go AC!

7. Thank you for these! I've been without internet access at home and can only
sporadically check in at work -- and the coverage by the networks has fallen way off. Rachel's over by the time I get home (note to self to record her DAILY) so I've been kind of clueless.

These pieces are the first I've heard that the military is actually "standing with Mubarak" (as the Professor said) -- my heart sank when I heard that. And the AJE reporter's story was shocking.

It's discouraging that the media interest seems to have moved on.

Thank you again, and Recommend.
