I remember way back in college, my first college roommate (chosen for me, 16 years old, smart as a whip and dumb as a rock) had her boyfriend come from out of state. He took a disliking to me and had some interesting non direct ways of relating it. At one point, I was walking to class and he pulled out his pocket knife to pick at his nails while staring at me.
