"We don't hate women. We think they are a holy vessel for God to breathe life!"
I honestly heard someone tell me this when debating the whole 'family values' shit. I was arguing that the Repugs don't care for women or children once out of the womb.

I don't think I've ever heard such a sexist (and clueless) response.

Your thoughts?

is to laugh uproariously, then say, "Funny thing is, that's exactly what the Taliban says, too."

that is the worth of women in the eyes of the American Rethuglican Taliban..

Note that they feel free to discard their "holy" beer bottles along the side of the road, the same as they would discard the lives of women....

As if the women just stands there with God breathing life up her skirt...as if she has no part in this process...

23. Well, if she's a vessel, then she's not really a person
So, yeah, you treat her as you would any other vessel, and when her duty is done, turn her in for the deposit. Or recycling. Certainly don't elevate her to the status of full human being! That's reserved for the sex made in God's image.

Damn, I thought we'd settled this discussion back in the 1970s.

77. That's right. A vessel is merely a container for something much more important.
Ie. probably, as many trillions of sperm-cells these fascists can pump into it, whatever the consequences.

26. If those poor women that adhere to this indoctrination...
ever wised up, they could totally eliminate the role of these degenerate misogynists in any role whatsoever. I would never suggest precluding the role of men in raising their children or even in the act of conception... but specifically among these RW Xians, I just might change my mind. Then let's see who the "mere vessel" might be.

if you don't mind my asking...?

The reason I ask, is that I understood these Daddy Daughter dances involved girls under the age of thirteen

and I can't imagine a girl younger than that having to worry about "looking slutty".

74. I take my 7 year old
To the father/daughter dance at her elementary school next week. It consists of the girls running around the gym playing and the fathers standing around talking and drinking pop. Once all these kids are together any thought of hanging out with dad goes right out the window.

There is nothing, at all perverted or sexual about it. If you think there is, maybe it's in your head and not the occasion itself.

27. Sure ... my daughters are 11 and 9 ...
And my point is that if you want them to see "daddy" as the owner of their bodies, you have to start start young (thus my puke smiley).

As for the "slutty part", that was a joke ... but I will say that my 11 year old is about 5 foot 4, and she is developing early ... way way to early for my comfort. And when she puts on a one piece swim suit at the Y, she looks much older.

But she and I, and her mother, have already had the foundational talks. She has no problem talking to me about her period (I hide my discomfort when she does).

She and her sister will get to be their own women. Not that I could stop that ... their mother is not a woman who would stand still as the "vessel" for my sperm, nor would she ever sit on any "pedestal" that I tried to construct for her.

http://www.kitsapsun.com/news/2011/feb/03/fatherdaughter-dance-coming-gh-boys-girls-club/#ixzz1D1F4QEsf

"On Feb. 12, the Peninsula Athletic Association (PAA) will host its ninth annual Father/Daughter ball, an evening of splendor, delight and dancing.

“It’s a night for fathers to court their daughters with dancing they will treasure forever,” said Sandra Kern, PAA director.

She said that the couples will be dazzled when they see the decorated gym –– complete with a disco ball and DJ-piped music.

“We’ll have refreshments and punch and lots of flowers, prizes and photo possibilities,” Kern added."

sounds like those 'photo possibilties' would be illegal in most places, even here in Sweden

Men will be used for manual labor, or kept on sperm farms.

I'm an average and I've seem the other guys at the gym. And I am amazed that 3/4 of these grunting chia pets are married.

At some point, women will decide that sex with a person who smells nice and has soft skin is way better, and when they do, we men are finished.

9. It is all about are women equal in being able to make decisions.
Edited on Fri Feb-04-11 02:08 PM by RandomThoughts
Or are they subservient.

If you think with a 'society first' not people in society first model, then nobody really matters, they are cogs to a goal, women are for bearing children, or trophies, or other things, not as independent thinking felling people in that idea.

But that is not from an idea about women only, it comes from the idea that people are a resource for something like a society, or an economy, or the 'corporation as a person' idea.

It is not hard to understand.

If you think of the machine as more important then the cog, and you think with the direction of the mind of the machine, not for the people in the machine, then those thoughts occur.

Much of the thoughts that cause many problems, is the shift to machine over the dignity of all people in a society or system. Keeping that balance is tough. Sending soldiers to war is for the system, against some soldiers in the system, for others in the system, hive mentality.

All systems are hive mentality, and many faults are thinking about the system not the individual.

In the same way complete selfishness does the same thing. A person that abuses women has a system of only them, and to them a women is a cog to serve them. So that occurs sometimes also. If a person thinks a women, or a man, is for their purposes, they may be trying to define a system for their purpose, and that purpose is not for a cog in the system.

The selfish self machine system, is also a person saying they are 1 and other people are 2 for them. You can see why all people servants to all people makes more sense, since a person that thinks people are resources for them, does not take into account the dignity of what they think is a 2 in the system for them.

If you have a wife, or a husband, they should serve each other, in the same way a leader should serve the people he leads, and a landowner should serve the tenants, as the tenants serve him. It is a different concept then owning people.

Christianity had to be man based
Any god could die on a cross and say that he cared enough to die for mankind's sins
It had to be a human that died for the sins of mankind.
It had to start with a woman.
If you take out the woman you can not have Christianity.

I hope this helps ........

if you ever notice, when a woman achieves something, or becomes infamous, and she's a mom or grandmom, the news always reports "78-year-old grandmother of five arrested for shoplifting", or "Mother of two arrested for prostitution" or, "Mother of three wins Nobel Prize."

It's always in relational terms of children, husbands, grandchildren.

I remember reading an article once that stated that, in terms of Species history, Human Males are "programmed" to live shorter lives than Human Females, because as they reach extreme old age (over 50,--again, viewed through the lens of Human Anthropology) they contribute far, far less to the development of any 2nd or 3rd generation offspring than the Matriarchs of a given group....
but yeah, I get what you're getting at=)
