What happened to ElBaradei?
Have Egyptians been rallying around him as a potential interim leader?

There seemed to be talk of that early on but he seems not to be in the discussion as much anymore.

1. Last I heard, he's with the protestors, but they don't see him as their leader or spokesman

2. I was going to say they need him (or someone like him) to just be a focal point
for info and getting their message out, but they're doing a pretty amazing job without anybody "serving" in that capacity!

an expat, who parachuted in to take advantage of a situation.

If he stays there in Egypt and proves to the public that he is planning on staying, he might have a better reputation with the locals

7. I've heard both - that he intends to run but hasn't announced yet ...
dude needs a website (there's a facebook page for him but it's in Arabic).

He's been away for awhile, not sure he'd be the first pick of the Egyptian people.

8. Yeah, but until someone is selected I think he's a good interim representative -
he has credibility in the West and although the Egyptian people may be suspicious of his motivations right now, such a voice will be useful to them.

I've heard statements from him expressing his own opinion and it always seems as though it's in line with the peoples'

9. I've liked what I've seen of him as well-
and especially like that he doesn't mince words about Imperialism (of course that isn't going to win him any points with our leadership ...)
