Jon Stewart "I respect Bill Oreilly and I like him"
How can anyone respect and like someone who sexually harrases woman?

I mean his lies on Faux news is bad enough, I thought Jon really had a pair.

1. what has happened to Jon?
Midlife crisis or something? He's starting to sound like Dennis Miller.

4. I thought his gathering at Washington
was the beginning of my disappointment with him.

He's still funny sometimes .... maybe power corrupts
and it got to his head

In the last year I think he lost his mojo.

3. Jon Stewart has done nothing compared to Keith Olbermann.
People received health care because of Keith.

9. You need to see the FULL segment in context.
The title of the OP is VERY misleading.

10. No I don't
Jon is history. I thought for awhile he really was with us, but he's just another rich guy.

An elite. Too bad. I may never watch his show again.

When the comment comes at the tail end of a seven minute segment where Stewart absolutely skewered O'Reilly.

Something some of us learned in debate class or from supervising others at work: people respond better to criticism if you're able to not be a total douche while you're telling them.

15. Yeah, that was a great segment.
But he said he liked O'Reilly because unlike some Fux News commentators, he isn't afraid to go on other shows.

18. Exactly
He didn't say he liked O'Reilly for his politics, his debate style, or his personal life; he was pretty specific about what he liked about O'Reilly.

19. If Stewart really wanted to go after Oreilly
He would bring up the secual harrassement of woman the abuse of oreilly staffers, and more, instead he plays
it safe, Stewart should take lessons from Gervais.

34. So when Stewart starts slamming somebody, he needs to pick apart every weakness in them?
I guess he'd better not bring up Bush again because that's a few months worth of shows right there, just to set up the joke.

17. He's just part of the false dialogue
He has a lot more in common with Billo than with you and I. He's rich, he's white and both are proponents of capitalism. They just keep the false dialogue going between two bad alternatives. It keeps us chosing between really sucks and sucks less.

and try to divorce political disagreement from how you feel about the person.
