On January 23, 2011, the Miami Herald ran a full-page statement sponsored by the Haiti Action Committee in California, calling for the return of Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide. This would be a good window for Aristide to return. With the middle east blowing up and Baby Doc back, maybe it would be difficult for the State Department to devote many resources to blocking him.
