403 hp, 100mpg

IRVINE, CA July 1, 2010: Fisker Automotive, the American manufacturer of elegantly designed, premium plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, and Southern California-based global branding experts Lambesis, announced today the launch of Fisker’s international “Pure Driving Passion” campaign for the acclaimed Fisker Karma. The fully-integrated campaign debuts today with the launch of FiskerAutomotive.com. The site will inform customers about PHEV technology and is the precursor to the Fisker Karma launch scheduled for the end of this year.

The “Pure Driving Passion” campaign was born from the compelling Fisker design philosophy that the auto industry can only be elevated by refusing to compromise. Fisker Automotive’s unyielding pursuit of pure design led the company to design one of the most sustainable and accountable vehicles in automotive history. The all-new campaign was created to reflect these impassioned principles.

The campaign celebrates how the Karma redefines automotive marketing through the seamless blend of eco-minded luxury, exhilarating performance, the sensuality of superior comforts and unparalleled sustainability.

A major campaign objective was to educate the public on how eco-consciousness is sexy. To graphically communicate the sensuality of the Fisker Karma’s sustainable designs, world-renowned photographer Miles Aldridge captured beautiful images that express the brand’s captivating, sexy essence. The provocative campaign imagery reflects how Fisker Automotive is dramatically changing the industry with an unrestrained passion for pure design.

2. With that kind of power
it better have a trailer hitch and a box on the back. Then it is useful. Otherwise the power is wasted.

Or cut the power and increase the mpgs, that makes more sense for a two seater, especially if it comes with a woman's legs hanging out the window.

9. hell, at that price
I'll take a dozen...

:sarcasm:

these hybrids are good and all but...not realistically affordable.

I make a very good living but this is well outside my means, even with the tax credits and, I am assuming like the Volt, the projected high residual value if I were to lease this.

Sorry but there is zero way that I can (or would) pay double (or more) than what I have paid for cars in the near past.

17. She's gonna be mighty expensive, dude
If you keep her, she costs $3000 a day, if you marry her, she'll divorce you next year and keep half of what you got. I suggest you stick to a Prius and your girl friend, they're a known product.

20. The average cost of a car sold in America today is $28,400
And that'll just get you a well appointed sedan. Heck, I paid $27,000 for my Subaru Forester four years ago, and that wasn't even decked out. No nav and cloth seats. I did splurge and go for the rubber floormats and tow kit though. That's about as middle class as you can get :)

The days of the $15k middle class car are long over. The only thing you'll ever see in that price range again are stripped down econoboxes and entry level imports. There hasn't been a sports car, or even a comfortable sedan, at that price point since the 1980's, and you'll never see it again.

23. I would never buy a new car, your 4 year old "Forester" is
probably worth about 9-10K
you can buy a fine car with fairly low miles for 15K

32. Actually, it's worth about $17k.
Subaru's hold their value exceedingly well, though "curb depreciation" (the amount of value lost the moment you drive it off the car lots curb) can indeed be a bear.

Remember, in order for you to buy a used car, someone else like me had to buy it new first.

30. I didn't want folks to be misled by "the American manufacturer"
I'm thrilled with the tech, and I do think that someday they will be built here (there was something about not being able to find or have the money initially to build a factory here a while ago), but I didn't want folks thinking that this was a US built car by American hands in American jobs.

22. With the exception of the sexist computer generated women in their ad campaign...
I like it. I cannot afford it, but I like it.

A lot of times newer technologies need to be spurred by the wealthy to make them more affordable for us Proles. Just look at computers... If the first 10mb hard drive was not priced at $3,500 back in the 80's, I would not have a half a terabyte portable drive sitting on my desk that I bought for $79 today.

Personally I think that the car is sexy as hell without the legs sticking out of the back seat. But hey, whatever it takes to get a bunch of rich folks to start spurring the technology so it can become affordable for the rest of us.
