Me: compulsive Facebook link sharer. Friend request: tea party evangelical HS acquaintanc. Worth it?
I just got a friend request from someone I knew in high school who describes himself as a Tea Party Republican and an Evangelical Christian. We were never close friends or anything but we weren't enemies either. If I didn't use Facebook as a way to share links with and get links from other DUers then it would be an easy decision. I wouldn't really care what his affiliations are in that case. Since I do share and read a lot of links there though I'm wondering if it is even worth the hassle of having someone who is probably going to want to butt in all the time. On the other hand, I have other HS friends that I'm pretty sure lean that way (Glenn Beck and Discovery Institute on their favs, etc) and they never seem to really butt in.

Should I accept the request?

1. Isn't there supposed to be some way to divide FB friends into groups?
Not that I know how to . . . .

3. Yeah. But that works more like a mailing list. I just like to post stuff to my stream.
Just wondering if anyone had any bad experiences (or even good ones) with this kind of thing.

2. I tend to confirm such requests
I always hope that the other person will follow some of the links I put on FB and will see a different perspective than what he's used to.

4. Seems reasonable.
There is always the unfriend option too. I'm just there to share links not really to get into daily fights. If I wanted that I'd DU more often ;-)
