Poll question: Poll Question: What will Keith Olbermann do?
Edited on Sat Jan-22-11 04:58 PM by Tx4obama

Lots of options

Even though KO can't have a new TV/Network show for awhile till the time in the settlement agreement has been fulfilled he can still write a book, do radio (SIRIUS), write op-eds, and post internet videos.

After that maybe he'll head to HBO, CNN, Oprah's new network, or wouldn't it be great if someone were to start a new 'liberal leaning news network' ? What do ya'll think?

I think it would be pretty awesome if someone were to start up a new network and hire all the folks that are now out of work: Keith Olbermann, David Schuster, Rick Sanchez, Phil Donahue, Rosie O'Donnell, Roseanne Barr, etc ;)
And then pull Rachel Maddow and Cenk Uygur over there too!

1. He may do many of those things, but I see a multimedia future - Internet as centerpiece
Think Huffington Post, but possibly expanding to include another television show, but with him as producer, not host. It may not even be a talk show format.

He and Michael Moore would make an intriguing team on some multimedia projects.

9. Actually, he went to dinner at Gramercy Tavern last night
with four others. Didn't sound too broken up about it, so I'm starting to think the break-up was mutual.

6. The two years remaining in his contract, for which he is gong to be paid..
about 7 million a year, will keep him form being on TV for 2 years.

His voice has been silenced until after the 2012 election.

After that, well there may be no outlet that will give him a place with a resurgant Republican/Conservative Party in control.

7. He will open a bed and breakfast in New Hampshire and
spend many days working his garden, writing, and on warm summer days, cheering on the local little league teams. On winter days he pads around the house in his PJ's, a glass of brandy in one hand, the other hand in his house coat pocket.

13. Other gig:
Now that Keith Olbermann is leaving MSNBC, could he be setting his sights on Hollywood and Aaron Sorkin’s next TV project? The Golden Globe-winning scribe behind The Social Network has long had a pilot script in the works about a cable news show, and Olbermann could be tapped to contribute rants, says a source familiar with the project.

Sorkin spent time on Olbermann’s set while penning the behind-the-scenes script (think Sports Night meets Countdown), something he did while juggling The Social Network and working on an early draft of the upcoming film Moneyball (starring Brad Pitt). Sorkin recently told BBC News that he also shadowed Chris Matthews and Fox News and that he’s working with HBO on the project. (Unfortunately, the pay cabler is not confirming anything.)

Any network giving serious consideration to Sorkin’s next series may want to wait until Tuesday’s Oscar nominations to make a bigger publicity splash since it seems all but guaranteed that Hollywood’s premier scribe will snag a screenplay nod for The Social Network. Sorkin already won a Golden Globe for writing the movie, which was also recognized as the year’s best drama flick by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. In addition, Sorkin scored a BATFTA nomination.

Should the behind-the-scenes script become a series, it’s practically a given that Sorkin would call upon his trusted allies to help carry out his vision. Besides Olbermann’s potential contribution, Emmy-winning scribes like Kevin Falls (Franklin & Bash) and Eli Attie (House M.D.) — both of whom worked on The West Wing – could help Sorkin run the show, while Thomas Schlamme would be a natural to direct. And what do you say, Sorkin; how about Bradley Whitford as Olbermann’s doppelganger? Stay tuned.

If you search DU history, you'll see how closely I followed KO.
There is no place on TV where he will make the same impact.
Public action, books and documentaries, much like Phil Donohue.

I can't see Keith compromising his principles... especially after his dad's death.
