From the Dept of When You're in a Hole, Stop Digging.
He is right on the substance. His gobsmackingly bad gaffe on Meet the Press should not overshadow his life's work. But this response could have come from any high school sophomore who is not that witty.

Cory Booker hits back at critics via Twitter: Sorry I make u sick'

By Eric Pfeiffer
May 25, 2012

Newark, N.J., Mayor Cory Booker has apparently had enough of saying he's sorry this week.

Under fire since Sunday after an appearance on NBC's "Meet the Press" during which he said attacks from President Barack Obama's re-election campaign over Romney's time at Bain Capital were "nauseating," Booker lashed out on social media Thursday night, writing on his Twitter account, "Sorry I make u sick. And sorry I made a mistake. I'm sorry that 15 seconds on MTP erodes my 20 yrs of work in inner cities around our nation."

In a chat on the New York Times Opinionater blog, conservative columnist David Brooks wrote, "By the way I don't know if you saw the crawlback video Booker released later in the day, but that was painful to watch. So humiliating to see someone collapse under a bit of pressure."

Apparently, he forgot that he only got on MTP last Sunday because he is an Obama campaign surrogate because, once there, he tried to show how job creator loving and bipartisan he is by dissing Obama's campaign message against Romney.

When that totaly predictaby blew up in his face, he acted all shocked and outraged that Republicans were using his statements against Obama. (Duh?)

So, he backpedaled, as he had to do, if he wants any future whatever as a Democratic elected official.

Now, Obama supporters are dissing him and so are Republicans. (Again, duh?)

And he makes this juvenile retort.

Politician up, Booker.
