I don't remember quite where I saw it, but apparently the six heirs to the Wal-Mart fortune have as much wealth as the bottom 30% of the country. Six people who have as much as 97 million of their fellow citizens. Keep in mind that these six people didn't found Wal-Mart; they're simply the familial beneficiaries of the fabulous fortune Sam Walton created. For some reason I don't quite understand, this is how it should be, and the popular media and the Republican party (not to mention not a few Democrats) are doing their level best to maintain this system in the name of "job creation" or "death taxes" or some other glib crapulous pleasantry.
