So when you read the headline, "Democrats go on the offensive"
Edited on Fri Dec-02-11 12:41 AM by pennylane100
what comes to mind. My mind usually tries to go off in two different directions and it gives me a headache. I always believe that we have to start acting tougher and my second thought is, "God, I hope we really mean it this time". This is definitely not a democratic bashing thread, but after I read that headline somewhere today, I wondered I would worry about statements that we (the democratic party) make about playing hardball. I want us to start rubbing their noses in it. Now I feel better.

4. I laughed.
Democrats don't "do" offense, at least not amongst our elected. That's why we lose.

6. The only reason why we do not, besides the unexplainable blue dog presence,
is that there is no way to get elected without the backing of special interests. I do not think that will change, even if we take back the house, unless we clean up the Supreme Court. We should stop making life time appointments and there has to be some way, other than impeachment (which happens only with the consent of the party in power} to get rid of corrupt Judges. Scalia and Thomas I hope you are listening.

5. It means we say we'll oppose something
Then quietly fold about a month later, give the Repubes 80% of what they want, and claim the remaining 20% as some sort of triumph worthy of a fundraiser.
