Why Romney Lied

The Romney camp is trying to spin its blatantly false advertising as a brilliant ploy for attention.
But Greg Sargent gets it right:

My view is that all the boasting from Romney’s advisers about their own strategic brilliance is just bluster. If they’re willing to run an ad this dishonest, why would anyone believe anything they say about it? It’s more likely that they lied, got caught, and came up with another set of falsehoods to explain the lie away. But who knows — maybe the above interpretation is true. Maybe the Romney team thinks a deliberate show of dishonesty will carry appeal for GOP primary voters who hate Obama so much that they want a candidate who will throw even the most basic standards of honesty and decency out the window to defeat him. If so, that says a lot about the Romney campaign’s regard for those voters, doesn’t it?

1. This was my guess as well ... Romney needs to prove that he will do ANYTHING

to beat Obama ... and LYING gives him some street cred with the crazy far right who tend to hate his guts.

Don't be surprised if Mitt begins to question whether Obama was born in the US.

Its his only hope of getting right wing manics to ignore his cult religion.

3. Yep,

He is now doing the same as all their other clowns, trying to get the right wing "moron" vote from the tea party clan! What he fails to understand, just like the other clowns, is that the "moron" vote won't get him elected, but may in fact show just how stupid he really is! Any voter with half a brain may come to the conclusion that if old Mitt is so willing to lie, and this isn't the first time, he is most likely lying about just about everything he is saying he will do if he gets elected. His track record is not that great. Buying companies, closing them down and sending jobs overseas, claiming he was a life time hunter to get the NRA voters, and then come to find out he never purchased a hunting license, never owned a gun, and finally having to admit he shot at rats in a local dump ONE time! Or the one about him and his father marching with King, but once again he got caught in a lie and came up with the spin he "meant" they marched with him in "spirit"!

The good thing is in going after the "moron" vote he makes himself the kind of person most independent voters, and some republicans, won't vote for. Many republicans already wont vote for the guy because in their eyes he is "NOT" a "REAL" christian, and what he fails to understand is most of the "morons" he is trying to cater to, won't vote for him either. Instead they will most likely try and get some idiot like Palin to run as on an independent ticket.

Mitt is simply a joke with even his own party!
