Well at least they weren't shopping at Walmart
SPENCER, Iowa | A Missouri man has been injured while pheasant hunting in Iowa.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says Steve Nelson, of Independence, Mo., was shot in the upper thigh, hand and arm by a 12-gauge shotgun being carried by a juvenile walking behind him Friday morning near Spencer in northwest Iowa.

DNR spokesman Kevin Baskins says the shotgun accidentally discharged as it was being carried.

Deer hunter stabbed near Drexel, Mo.

A 41-year-old deer hunter told Cass County Sheriff deputies that he was attacked and stabbed this morning.

The sheriff’s office received a 911 call about 9:30 a.m. Friday saying that the man had been hunting deer when he was assaulted in a wooded area near East 341st Street and the state line near Drexel, Mo.

The victim was flown to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Cass County detectives were investigating the scene and had no suspect information to release.
