16. I read the flyer. It said, "while supplies last." That means when the amount is finished, goodbye
it's over. Why would anyone stand in line for a flat screen TV priced at $50 less? Why not get a TV from Goodwill at $50 or less?

I watched the Spanish language news today, and they were interviewing shoppers at Black Friday. The amount of reduction was not enough to be worth waiting HOURS.

I don't get it. I swear I don't. It's madness, and like the Occupy Walmart folks, I agree that it supports a piece of crap box store which destroyed small businesses, keeps jobs in China, and why put money into that crap business?

What's more, my dad and I did an experiment while we were at Walmart on Friday. We compared food products for which we knew prices at Publix Supermarkets. For everything organic that I buy, Walmart had higher prices. For everything my dad buys, half of it was higher, the rest of it was a similar price, except for 1 item which was cheaper.

Walmart is never worth buying from.

30. Yes but they had ten units per store
once it is gone, it is gone.

Why best buy and some Wally Worlds turned to giving tickets.

Why do this? Stores are cynical They know they will not hand out as many tvs as demand. So they lose a few bucks on the loss leads and people will STILL buy crap from them at close to regular prize

People really need an education on how this shit works.

9. CONTEMPT?
I won't ask what you are smoking.

Most of the people in those lines are working minimum wage jobs, and they BELIEVE, it is belief, that they will get them really good deals today. Truth be told is no they won't. Loss leads (otherwise known as door busters) are few and far apart on purpose.

This is partly lack of education. And yes you can find good deals ONLINE, avoid the crowds, even almost at loss lead prices... and not risk your life. This is where the digital divide comes in.

SO no, it is not contempt... more like rage that these people are so crassly taken advantage by a system that demands and gives faux status from cheaply made goods by slave labor in China.

Now if you cannot tell the difference... well then

Oh and yes, REAL people got hurt today, one critically injured... and the day is not over yet.

Is that so very many of the 99% are indeed brainwashed zombies. That's what the education effort is all about, I think.

18. The whole holiday shopping thing is bizzarre!
Spending money this time of year is economically inefficient.

Presents are almost by definition worth less than was paid for them, since in many cases they are something that the person getting the gift wouldn't have bought for themselves at that price.

Other purchases go towards social occasions with people who you would not meet with at other times of the year.

24. Yeah I'm thinking they already got their pass.
That is, unless you can think of a way to hold their feet to the fire other than by ostracizing them.

Regardless of how they voted, they're still in the 99%.

Why anyone bothers to answer you like you're going to get it is a true puzzle.

29. I don't understand the "no choice". I don't live like a bum, but I simply don't need that stuff
Most of the Tea Party is in the 99%.

The vast majority of Randians are in the 99%.

It doesn't say anything else about who they are or what they do - just that they aren't in the small class of people who own all the wealth. That may be the only thing some of us have in common with them, besides two arms, two legs, and one head.

Consumerism (i.e. looking to "buying stuff" as the way to solve problems) is the part of the problem owned by the 99%. Capitalism, the other side of the coin, is the part owned by the 1%.
