Calls it mastery of the budget process and the do nothing congress.

1. Lawrence is a knob.
During the debt ceiling debate, he was claiming Obama was a 13th level Jedi that was going to get the republicans to pass a clean bill raising the debt ceiling.

He's a typical partisan pundit.

2. It's political theatre meant to grind right wing nerves
Of course he's not always right. Take his Pawlenty prediction. But it is fun to watch him crow about the president tonight and imagine right wing nerves being churned to a soft pulp.

3. If Obama doesn't get re-elected then it's a clean bill because there were no consequences on his
Watch.

If he does keep his job then he will have to deal with the rescinding of the Bush Tax cuts, the end of the payroll tax holiday, severe cuts in defense and an unknown reaction to cuts in funds to Medicare providers.

4. IF Obama holds firm on his veto threat today, and that's a big if
he will have won the debt ceiling fight.
