Note that Katehi remains silent during what looks like her perp walk. She does not acknowledge the presence of the students. And yet, within an hour she was live on CNN explaining away the pepper-spray incident to host Don Lemon, who had to cut her off a few times because her responses were so long-winded.

In case folks don't see what that has to do with anything, it's been my experience that those who fled Iran and set up shop in CA tend to be rather RW authoritarian types. They were fans of the shah in the majority of cases.

25. Interesting. The ones I knew in TX were anti-Shah, anti-Khomeini and loved Jimmy Carter.

They were well-educated and no different in their attitudes than the typical union worker of that day. No animus towards women, totally secular. Not crazy about the oil industry. Hard working, cheerful, open minded, friendly folks. Guess I was just lucky.
