We already now know that that the claim that the shooter was connected to Occupy was a lie.

But that won't matter because now there's a video of Occupy San Diego having a moment of Silence in Solidarity for the White House shooter.

Is it true? Is it missing some context I couldn't see? I don't know. I wasn't at San Diego to see it. I have only the right wing's account to go by.

Yeah after video of Shirley Sherrod saying she refused to help white people and Acorn helping pimps of child prostitutes, I am obviously skeptical of a video that only seems to be on right wing bligs and Faux News.

But I wasn't there at San Diego. I cant' find the whole video to see any missing context and blanket cynicism isn't a good counter argument.

I have refrained from giving advice to the Occupy moment. They have people giving them advice out the wazoo.

BUT this was inevitable. We all knew the right wing would use video to demonize the Occupiers. The right does this to all their enemies. (hell sometimes the evidence is even true) And if they did it again here. there needs to be a way to counter it or else Occupy might as well go home

One of the usual right-wing suspects in the Twin Cities was claiming in MinnPost (an online paper) that Occupiers were having sex in public (on Government Plaza when it was 29° out).

They repeat whatever they hear in their media without question.

7. I was at Occupy San Diego this past weekend.

It is a generally somber affair. The SDPD has pretty much beat them down into the pavement. Pretty much what I would expect to see in my hometown. Yoyossarian and I gave them all of our spare $$$. The protesters who remain are either homeless, dedicated or both. I'm going back for Thanksgiving and I'll do whatever I can to help.

Historically, challenging the status quo in San Diego is the same as wearing a "kick me" sign on one's back. There are more than enough people there who are happy to interpret that literally.

And the RW using video to demonize is not new... they have been doing it here from day one.

One incident involving a flag and a dog was not even at Convention Center.

And the famous cart incident never led to a police investigation.
