How the HELL did Alex Wagner get a show of her own on MSNBC?
I'm guessing the "perky" thing had something to do with it, but she's got a grating sort of "Valley Girl" voice, and watching her just now was SAD, because she sat in the middle of her "roundtable" discussion on OWS, and everyone was going back and forth, and a couple of times she looked at the person speaking as if she was going to get a word in edgewise and ended up putting down her head and looking discouraged. She tries to shout on top of them and they don't pay a bit of attention to her or what she is saying.

Kind of embarrassing.

2. She has come across as smart and informed when she was
a guest on other shows. Maybe being guest is different from being host.

3. She's still feeling her way around - but she's 1000 times better than the other people

they've tried in that time slot, who have gone out of their way to avoid controversial issues.

7. Ha! I just posted a thread that I thought she was pretty
good and this may be a good show!

And as is always the case, we all view things through our own filters and I was thinking she was doing a good job of reining in the folks and getting her opinion across.

You say tomayto.... :hi:

10. I'm agnostic on her thus far.....
She's good when she's a guest....but has little to say when she has her panel....
and some on her panel are Republican supporters, and that bothers me for some reason.

11. She should replace Sharpton - he is embarrasing
or better Melissa (something) Perry should.

Sharpton has very little credibility left after so many Brawley type moments.

"If the Jews want to get it on, tell them to pin their yarmulkes back and come over to my house"<54> and referring to Jews as "diamond merchants." (Wiki)

There is no place for that kind of speech at a media outlet the size of NBC.

12. Sorry, but I disagree. I find Sharpton witty, knowledgable,
and very good at the job. The biting wit that he does is particularly enjoyable. Leave him alone. If there is anyone who lives their lives without a mistake, name that person.
He tries to do what he sees as right and I'm delighted to have him in our column..

14. I'll second that...I really enjoy the Rev's show.
And you're right, it's the combination of wit and insight that makes it enjoyable. He's not Jon Stewart...his show is not "satire"...it's more of a world-weary "Can you BELIEVE this crap" kind of reaction to things like the "Cain Train."

Also, he goes for the throat...yesterday, when he played the teaser for the Rick Perry "Obama said Americans are lazy" ad, he said "You'd better BELIEVE I'm going to respond to THIS one."

He's not perfect. He's done good things in the past, and hes fucked up in the past as well...like the other 99.9% of us who make up our world.

Right now, he's a welcome voice, and that voice needs to be heard.

:patriot:
