Panic in the Pentagon: Can't Pass Weapons Testing? Army Chief Says to Get Rid of It

http://www.truth-out.org/panic-pentagon-cant-pass-weapons-testing/1321461224

The Department of Defense (DoD) contractors and their followers in the Pentagon are in a panic. The first set of proposed cuts in the DoD by the Congress and the Obama administration, followed by the threat of more cuts if the Congressional "supercommittee" does not come to an agreement has them claiming potential national security Armageddon.

-long snip telling the history/current ins and outs of the situation-

Fixing what is really wrong with weapons procurement in the DoD would save billions of dollars, but also would require political courage and hard work. Unfortunately, it is much easier for the DoD to cut the money from the messengers in the bureaucracy who bear bad news.
----------------------

it would take a miracle to have the Barons make a reduced budget and stick to it

since miracles are a construct it won't happen

until the pentagon is turned into an apartment house

1. Any cuts to defense would quickly be restored
So it's really all a sham.

2. Funny how they are now so concerned about "readiness"..
Now and not when our soldiers were getting blown by IED's daily in Iraq and were forced to use scraps of metal and bulletproof material purchased by soldiers families (to reinforce their humvee's) because "soldiers are supposed to fight with the army they have... not the one they want" as stated so eloquently by the SOB in charge prior to Gates.

3. TruthOut article is really half baked

While any shot at Loren Thompson is OK by me, it really misses some of the key issues in the DT/OT process

Rasor has shown herself clueless on multiple occasion in the past.
