7. I never understand that whole thing
Edited on Sun Nov-13-11 02:46 AM by MedleyMisty
I read tweet streams and see people complaining about having to wait five minutes or something because of a protest. What goes through their minds? How can they prioritize five minutes of their day over the future of the entire world? How much more selfish and narcissistic can you get?

22. The concern I have heard is about business owners who can't operate...
... etc..

That isn't selfish. That is self preservation.

11. all day 1000 radio stations whine about the inconvenience that govs and cops need to save them from
with whatever force necessary.

and afterwards the same stations thank the cops for beating up the protestors, etc., or for not being tough enough, with lots of calls from people who had to take detours to get to work, etc...

23. We are trying to change the world..."
"The most important moral and intellectual voices within a disintegrating society are slowly discredited when their nonviolent protests and calls for
justice cannot alter intransigent and corrupt systems of power. The repeated acts of peaceful civil disobedience, efforts at electoral and political reform
and the fight to protect the rule of law are dismissed as useless by an embittered, dispossessed and betrayed public. The demagogues and hatemongers,
the purveyors of violence, easily seduce enraged and bewildered masses in the final stages of collapse with false promises of vengeance, new glory
and moral renewal. And in the spiral downward the good among us are reviled as naive and ineffectual fools."

24. Right on! Love those complaining about the inconvenience of a detour, etc.
Do these same people complain about the atrocities committed by Wall Street that have detoured entire lives? I think not.
