George H. W. Bush Endorsed Jerry Sandusky's charity.
Poppy called Second Mile a "shining example."

I bet. Other civic leaders, sports notables and entertainment personalities did as well:

Ex-coach in Penn State scandal built charity with support from sports stars, politicians

Among the big-time athletic figures listed as honorary directors were Cal Ripken Jr., Arnold Palmer, former Pittsburgh Steeler Franco Harris and Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid. President George W. Bush praised the group as a “shining example” of charity work in a 1990 letter. (Sandusky’s reaction: “It’s about time, George! This is long overdue,” he recalled in his autobiography, “Touched.”)

This, then, must appear less incredulous to a lot of people:

The good-guy aura around Sandusky was so great that when some children questioned behavior that didn’t seem right, no one took the complaints seriously.

I'm starting to understand Sen. Vitter better.

...dog whistle to each other via the media?

We did have that report that George Bush Sr's White House was running
boys through there in a prostitution ring, as reported by the Washington
Times.

Also, I think it's entirely possible that one of the reasons that no one
speaks out about the horrendous corruption in DC--is because many politicians
have been blackmailed due to their sexual escapades. I wouldn't put it past
the psychopathic contingent that is destroying our democracy and siphoning
wealth to themselves as "We The People" starve and die from lack of healthcare.

I remember hearing George Bush, during a speech about the economy or some other
general issue--bring up child trafficking and child sexual abuse. It was two
or three lines thrown into the speech. I remember others commenting on the
oddity of this and people suggesting that this was thrown in as a warning to
those who were being blackmailed--that you'd better vote the right way--or it
was lights out.

Of course I have no proof, but stuff like this really makes you wonder. Sexual
abuse of children isn't really about sex. It's about power and control.

15. The dog whistles in German.
Watergate plumber and right-wing nutjob G Gordon Liddy, when he worked for the FBI, explained how blackmail worked (paraphrase from memory, outta 1970s or 80s TV interview):

"Mr. Hoover would find out that a Congressman had had too much to drink and had gotten into an accident with his girlfriend. The next morning, Mr. Hoover would send me and another agent over to the Congressman's apartment. We'd knock on the door, identify ourselves and when he'd answer we'd tell him: 'Mr. Hoover is aware of the unfortunate accident last night. He wants you to know that he's doing everything in his power to keep it out of the press.' Of course, the Congressman would get the meaning right away. And when the FBI budget came up for review, that Congressman would vote for an increase. It worked every time."

There's a history going back to World War 2, when CIA stocked up on NAZIs -- even before the war ended. Led by the same brand of ultraconservative Wall Street turds ruining life today, the CIA forgave every kind of spy, scientist, war criminal, sadist and pervert as long as they were anti-Communist. And those were just the officers.

Here's a look back from Prof. Alfred McCoy on a subject that connects all this together:

The Long Shadow of CIA Torture Research.

Agree regarding power and control and they do have a unique language, CoffeeCat. What's weird is they speak it amongst themselves for secrecy, but 99-percent plus of We the People don't need a translator to understand it.

Thank you for putting it into words, rocktivity. Each human life is precious. Rich or poor. American or Iraqi.

It is obvious our nation's leadership does not understand that basic democratic ideology. They certainly don't act as if they do.

Remember ex-Rep. Mark Foley (R-FL)? The guy headed the subcommittee or somesuch on Missing and Exploited Children. Foley had to retire from Congress because he sent sexually explicit messages to an underage male page.

Mark Foley was in charge of the nationwide efforts to protect the most vulnerable of children. I wonder if he's on the nation's list of sexual predators?

perhaps he might have gone on to say "a shining example of sick depravity, which I'm all about!"
or "a shining example of how rich and privileged people can treat under privileged kids like play things-which, rumor has it, I'm all about, too!" or who knows...Poppy Bush is the Devil incarnate.
It amazes me (not really), that nobody knows( or remembers)the White House call boys scandal,or the Franklin scandal, and yet EVERYONE knows Clinton (Edwards, Spitzer,)had consensual sex with adult women.

CASE2:

http://articles.philly.com/2011-10-30/news/30339167_1_student-homes-milton-hershey-school-sexual-relations

How child-porn case led to Hershey School

William Charney Jr. walked into the federal courthouse in Harrisburg 10 days ago and was sentenced to more than seven years in prison. The charge: possession of almost 700 images and 40 videos of child pornography.

A vile crime in any circumstance, it is particularly chilling in the case of Charney. The 43-year-old, married and the father of two children, was responsible for the residential life of about 800 teenage students and was living on the campus of the Milton Hershey School for impoverished children. Between 2001 and 2008, Charney and his wife, Mollie, were the house parents for about a dozen boys, living in student homes with them.

Tipped off by America Online, the FBI had cause to move quickly when it first became aware of Charney in late 2009. "Let me know if you ever want to make it happen with one of my boys, they're always available," said one e-mail sent to Charney, who used an alias screen name.

Charney is the second child-sex offender uncovered at the Hershey School in recent years and the latest in a string of sexually charged issues to confront the school's administration and its Board of Managers. It comes as the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office is investigating multimillion-dollar expenditures by the school of funds meant to sustain the institution and expand its enrollment.

Sex-abuse case shatters Hershey School

By Bob Fernandez, Inquirer Staff Writer

...Having a serial pedophile with access to its students is a shattering blow for a 100-year-old school that considers itself a haven for children from impoverished backgrounds. The school, for prekindergarten through 12th grade, is financed by profits from the Hershey Co., and it has $7 billion in assets.

...Several boys complained to regular house parents about Koons in the 1980s, according to police documents. The mother of one of those boys sent a sworn statement to the Derry Township Police Department about a molestation in 1998. An investigation was launched in March 1998, and the school was contacted, according to an internal police report of the investigation.

But the case was dropped in April 1999, with a scant reference in the report to a detective and an official at the school planning to set up a meeting.

Cops: Abuse of Milton Hershey students reported years before child molester was convicted

Published: Monday, May 17, 2010, 7:38 PM Updated: Tuesday, May 18, 2010, 10:39 AM

By MATTHEW KEMENY, The Patriot-News

Four Milton Hershey School students reported being abused to their houseparents in 1989 and at least one of the boys' mothers reported abuse to Derry Township police in 1998 -- years before the abuser was convicted and sentenced to jail, authorities said.

Charles R. Koons II, 40, of Middletown, pleaded guilty in January to sexually assaulting 16 children. He was sentenced in March to 35 to 100 years in prison.

26. The Documentary 'The Conspiracy of Silence'
onspiracy of Silence is a 56-minute unreleased documentary film produced by Yorkshire Television in 1994. The subject of the film is an alleged child sexual abuse ring involving a number of prominent Nebraska persons, including Lawrence King, an Omaha banker, political fundraiser, and convicted felon. The documentary was scheduled for broadcast in the United States on cable outlet Discovery Channel on May 3, 1994. However, it was never aired. Proponents of the film claim that it was withdrawn due to political pressure; neither Yorkshire Television nor Discovery Channel commented officially on why it was not aired.
