Cain's drama queen attorney will sniff out "potentially actionable" sexual harassment accusers
You'll remember Wood as the emotional, overacting sack of crap who opened Cain's presser on 11/8:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Herman Cain has hired a high-profile defamation lawyer to keep an eye on the sexual harassment accusations made public by two women this week.

Atlanta attorney Lin Wood told Reuters on Thursday he was not hired to scare, intimidate or threaten anyone from making statements, but to monitor the accusations against Cain and respond accordingly.

Wood, a top libel and defamation lawyer, was hired on Monday morning when it became clear that Sharon Bialek was about to become the first of four women alleging inappropriate behavior by Cain to go public with her accusations.

“I would certainly at some point and time give him my legal evaluation of whether any of these particular statements are potentially actionable,” Wood said. “But I was not hired to run out and file a lawsuit against anybody.”

1. Sounds like an intimidation device in case any other women "dare" to come forward.

3. Yep..."I don't plan to do it, but if I have to, I will..."

And yet, the public consciousness has not yet registered Cain as "dangerous." Go figure.

ON EDIT: This guy wasn't hired to be litigious in the same way that the "Two Bobs" on "Office Space" weren't hired to orchestrate layoffs.

4. And It's Worked...
No sooner did this hired gun show up then the lawyer for women #1 (forget her name at the moment) backed down from trying to get all the women to speak out. I'm sure there's still a question about the NDA his client signed that this shyster has fine-toothed and won't hestitate to throw a suit...an expensive one. Once again those with influence and money control the game...

10. What's Sickening...
...are the millions who are supporting and cheering him on. One hopes that the "soccer moms" or whatever they're called these days are paying close attention and are as offended by this sexist and brutish behavior and remember it at the polls next year.

Cheers...

7. Cain has more to lose, much, much more.
He would be deposed during the discovery process, that would destroy him, and his attorney knows it.

Cain is betting that the women involved do not want to be publicly smeared and further humiliated by him, yat once again.

Piece of shit that he is.

8. Bingo...
I've found it very interesting that he had to settle two sexual harassment suits in his short tenure at the NRA. It seems these suits were settled very quickly rather than trying to drag things out and force the accusers to spend a lot of money and emotion. A bunch of red flags in my book, and of course, not explain and buried away in that NDA. My bets are this hack's biggest job is to ensure the specifics and terms of the "settlement" are never disclosed.

2. Tangentially, I really dispise this tendency of politicians to wipe their asses with the Flag Code.
Everyone does it--it crosses party lines.

ONE flag--not four or ten. Flags are not BUNTING and they should not be used as such.

It's a sustained source of irritation to me.

That lawyer looks like he's ready to go to town.

5. The rethuglican base loves them a fighter...
if it wasn't clear in 2008, at this point it should be crystal clear that belligerence has replaced gravitas.

Threatening to "stick it to ____" is a requirement for republican primary candidates seeking support from the right wing.

They aren't looking for a knowledgeable president candidate with a reasonable demeanor, they are looking for 'a contender'
