Meta level....this is important...
Edited on Wed Nov-09-11 03:04 AM by nadinbrzezinski
What we saw tonight was a mini wave election. We used not to have them this often. We only do when the country is not stable. So pay attention to more signs of instability. Also realize things are just accelerating. It started in Wisconsin, when we showed unity by feeding the occupiers, yes they occupied public buildings. Now we have camps all over, like Hoovervilles. They are rising and organizing and times are hard. But this is...part of a whole.

We are in the middle of a process and we can't see the end game yet, but let's work to make it good for the kids. Many of us are old enough where the true benefit will be to kids who are in grade school. They are the future.

As to trends, I do this from time to time...they are accelerating towards a climax. I think we will have some sort of a confrontation. Power concedes nothing, and we are challenging it...openly challenging it.

1. Any confrontation from TPTB will demonstrate two things...
Edited on Wed Nov-09-11 03:36 AM by Fire Walk With Me
1. That TPTB are clueless about #Occupy in that anything nasty they do to it, backfires upon them badly.
2. That #Occupy is leaderless, is locationless. It is all of us, it is everyone. (Edit: David Crosby on Keith Olbermann reminded me that it's locationless.)

In how it responds. And the question is how long until police batons are replaced with conversation?

3. Ooh, silver-tongued manipulative conversation?
#Occupy has a fantastic bullshit detector, built-in. Should be interesting :)

13. Leaderless is the best part of OWS, TPTB can't kill a leaderless movement.

5. Social Media
Two weeks ago I accidently happened onto the OWS demonstration in Seattle.

Then last week I watched Bloomberg and Giuliani's "let them eat cake" moment.

Bloomberg & Giuliani are clueless about today's media.
They were raised in a time when media could be centrally controlled.

They have no clue of how they come off to the massess in an uncontrolled setting.

Contrarily, the occupiers are acutely aware of observation, and of their inability to manipulate the media, so they manipulate the message. They are always "on-camera". The younger generation is more cognizant of how they look to others at all times.

Giuliani.. I have no words to describe how vile and offensive he appeared.

He really has no clue.

6. What you are seeing, actually, is zamisdat press
And it is a beautiful thing. We have had this in the past in the us...but that is what you are seeing.

And you are right, PTB have no clue what to do about it.

At this point all looks like nails...to them.

9. We are anxiously awaiting the results of the 18th district for state senator
in this region. It is literally a do everything for bidness candidate against a woman who is seeking to preserve public education.
