6 Things Obama Could Do To Goose The Economy -- Without Congress

How well the economy is doing on November 6, 2012, will likely be the single most important factor in how America votes.

And even though Republicans appear dead-set on blocking any legislative measure President Barack Obama comes up with that could actually stimulate growth, the president isn't entirely impotent when it comes to goosing the economy between now and Election Day -- on his own.

Several progressive thinkers contacted by The Huffington Post described six approaches Obama could still take unilaterally -- if he's willing to get a bit more assertive about things -- that could make an impact before November...

(The 6 things President Obama can do are)

1.) Demand Banks And Other Mortgage Holders Aggressively Write-Down Principal
2.) Tell China To Stop Currency Manipulation, And Mean It
3.) Sign Order Steering More Federal Contracts Toward High-Wage Companies
4.) Launch A "Buy American" And/Or "Buy Local" Campaign
5.) Loosen Financing For Small Businesses
6.) Stop Talking About The Deficit So Much

These are things that have been talked about before but most have not been pushed by the President as much as they could be. I think these are all sound ideas.

1. Hmm, I'm not so sure.

I'm not sure they would necessarily goose the economy. Although, # 4, 5, 6 might goose his re-election numbers.

And how would he enforce #1 & 2 without the rule of law?
