A Christian college in Georgia is asking all employees to sign a pledge declaring their heterosexuality.

Shorter University instituted the pledge in late October. If an employee decides not to sign the pledge, they are at risk of losing their job.

Since Shorter University is a private college, and doesn’t receive public funds, the move is legal, WSB-TV reports. University president Don Dowless, says similar pledges are not uncommon at other Christian universities. “These are biblical positions,” he said.

4. Okay. I have a question to ask of DU's "good Christians".

Every time you, as a DU culture, disavow a priest, church, or Christian group for their behavior against homosexuality or GLBT rights, you claim that 'their actions aren't Christian' or some such (the One True Scotsman), yet somehow, groups proclaiming themselves to be Christian keep doing these things.

How are we, as progressives and GLBTs outside Christianity, to believe that opposition to homosexuality and homosexual behavior in general is not a common and acceptable (from your points of view) Christian position, given this repeated behavior and response pattern emerging from the interaction between the two sides of this equation?

To put it more simply, why shouldn't we all believe that Christianity, in general, is opposed to GLBTs and our rights?
