7. It would also spread out the MSM news crews.
From livestream, it appears that they have crews at the park.

5. Promoters say halt to festival a 'scare tactic'
The mayor's office says the hip hop festival planned for Woodruff Park, where "Occupy Atlanta" is camped out, is off.

Organizers told Channel 2's Carl Willis they believe this is a scare tactic. Now they said they are angry and determined to have this concert.

...

"I just called the mayor on his cellphone and he said that the permit was pulled because they didn't have a security permit. But I think, as far as I'm concerned, there have been no security issues whatsoever," Beasley said.

Willis spoke with the mayor's office and they said the promoters failed to pay the $2,500 permit fee and failed to submit a security plan.

They said the concert's security detail resigned Tuesday because of lack of payment, which is required for a large festival.

6. Occupy Atlanta tries to flex muscle at Woodruff Park
ATLANTA -- Occupy Atlanta protestors shouted down Sonji Jacobs, Mayor Kasim Reed's spokeswoman, during the middle of an interview at Woodruff Park on Saturday.

"Who's park? Our park," the crowd shouted as Jacobs tried to answer questions from reporters about the city's decision to revoke the permit for the Atlanta Hip Hop Festival.

"The security coordinator pulled out because he did not want to deal with Occupy Atlanta," said festival organizer Amir James.

Festival organizers never gave the city a security plan or paid the $2,500 outdoor festival permit fee.
