Rick Santorum Pledges To Defund Contraception, 'Die On That Hill' Fighting Same-Sex Marriage

Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum recently pledged to "die on that hill" fighting against same-sex marriage, and made a similar vow to repeal all federal funding for contraception because it is "a license to do things in a sexual realm."

Santorum, a former senator from Pennsylvania, made the claims during an interview with CaffeinatedThoughts.com editor Shane Vander Hart, according to Think Progress. He declared that no other president had previously discussed "the dangers of contraception" and said that "sex is supposed to be within marriage" and "special."

He went on to describe "the battle" on same-sex marriage, claiming that allowing gay marriage would shake "the very foundation of our country, the family, what the family structure is going to look like."

"I'll die on that hill," Santorum said, pledging to fight for a federal ban on same-sex marriage.

I have never seen anyone so sexually repressed more than Dick Santorum. I mean did he have some mean nasty nanny who use to beat him? Did his parents lock him in the cellar for finding an old copy of playboy and a sticky tube sock under his bed? I mean we know the guy has had sex 7 times (he has 6 kids plus the miscarriage). Did he have an uncle who tried to diddle him and Dick now equates that with gay sex (or perhaps a Catholic Priest, Santorum is Catholic). Why is this man so sexually repressed?

How does he feel about killing all those sperm? Should a man be forced to ejaculate inside a woman every time he comes? How about a woman's miscarriage? Should she be required to be strapped down to a bed for nine months and kept completely immobile lest she risk harming the fetus or miscarrying? We need the intimate details from him about these and other issues regarding sex. Sex, sex, sex should be the subject of every question put to this man. I think we should encourage the guy to go completely over the deep end he's so close to going over already.

Sometimes if there is something you really want but can't have you tend to repress those who do have it.

Which leads me to believe he's a closeted homosexual. I'm guessing he was raised in a very repressed catholic family that made him feel that homosexuality was some sort of wretched sin and perhaps he had a parent who said something like 'any child of mine who would have sex with someone of the same sex will be disinherited'. So from this repressed childhood where he was raced to think GLBT people are 'mistakes', he probably has felt attraction to other men but was too scared to come out because of that repressed childhood.

I mean yeah on one hand it could explain a lot. But on the other hand it could be a lot more complex than that. I honestly don't get why this sort of thing happens - I mean is it egomaniacism? Is it some deep seeded childhood memory? Is it something else? He could just admit it and be done with it, but I think there's something else there.

He speaks the orthodox Vatican line regarding contraception...and I think it comes from his religious orientation than sexual. If you listen to him its like he's channeling St. Benadictus and pines to return society not to the 1950s but the 1450s. It was amusing to see him punt when asked about Mittens being a Christian. This guy's fanaticism is rooted in being told and sold the hell and damnation of those who stray from his narrowly defined "social norms". I don't see the guy as repressed as much as totally void of any real human emotion, including sexuality.

21. Exactly, I'm a reformed Catholic who had religion literally beaten into me. I knew I was gay and it

forced me as a child to hate myself and my natural thoughts. I even forced myself to get married to my high school "sweetheart" because I hoped it would "change" my thoughts so I wouldn't go to hell or be locked out of "paradise." I disliked gay people and often agreed with family members who would make fun of them.....and I was one of them. I am now in an 18 year relationship with a man I love and who loves me. When I think of all the damage.........anyway, I got away from my biological RW family, moved from NY to CA and started the transformation on me, minus the religion. It was agonizing work, discoveries abounded, but it was all worth it to become the person I am today. I like myself and others like me as well........some even love me.

It's probably unfair and judgmental, but there's a flavor of sex-obsessed conservatives that I think can almost be identified on sight. The pale, pinched face beneath the shining helmet of hair, the too-crisp blue suit and red tie? Sometimes it seems like they're being manufactured in a lab somewhere.

But it's no bias to note that every single one with this weird focus on what other consenting adults do in the bedroom is repressing their own issues. And the more tightly clenched their obsession, the freakier the inner truth. Santorum's on his own planet here. He's not a closeted gay man. There's meth-snorting ponies on roller skates involved, at the very, very least.

He believes the teachings of the Catholic Church, and he believes it's right to use the power of goverment to coerce others into obeying that moral code.

That's all it takes.

He doesn't have to be secretly gay.

He doesn't have to have a tiny penis.

In fact, I bet most secretly gay men with tiny penises are pretty nice guys.
