Now comes the worry about whether Change will be a good thing.
Will the government collapse, will I lose what I have and not get what I want, will it be chaos, I don't know what to expect...which is all very fair and reasonable. Change is frightening, and those who would actually lose out from Change, are the most vocal fearmongers, to drive you away from positive change so that their regime will continue forever.

Fully expect for your worries to be played upon. Recognize it in this apropos quote from V for Vendetta:

Chancellor: "What we need right now is a clear message to the people of this country. This message must be read in every newspaper, heard on every radio, seen on every television. This message must resound throughout the entire Interlink! I want this country to realize that we stand on the edge of oblivion. I want every man, woman and child to understand how close we are to chaos. I want everyone to remember WHY THEY NEED US!"

The question is not so much about whether or not the old way has failed and terribly harmed millions of people, and if left alone, will harm generations to come. The question is, will change now bring even worse problems than before? Will the government collapse, and with it, our security and expectation? What will I lose if things change?

#OWS around the world are working upon solving the problems we face for a peaceful transition to a better world. Not some woo-woo utopia, but a concrete set of solutions to the problems we now see, of economic/resource disparity, health care, opportunity, belonging, usefulness, community, networking...join the growing, positive community in which these problems are being addressed.

If you keep doing the same thing over and over and are always getting the same results, join the people who are actually building something that works for all of us! All of the reports coming from those who have visited or joined the #OWS community are positive, even exhilirated. Where there is still difficulty, it can be solved. Don't fall into the fear those abusers currently in power will seek to sow, but join the welcoming community now growing around you. You are already part of it and are welcome! They want to hear you, see you, get to know you, join you. How wonderful is that?

1. It's actually a very reasonable worry -- which is why OWS signifies how bad things are getting.
People don't engage in risky behaviors like revolutions unless and until they conclude that they don't have anything to lose.

One of the early protester quotes I keep thinking about (paraphrase): "If the police think they can send us home by making it hard on us, then they have no idea how hard things are back home"

4. Ooh, excellent quote. And the good news is, this is a quiet, soft revolution to the extent that the
police and powers that be leave it alone to grow. THAT is the only difficulty we face, abuse, not the actual getting-together to make things better.

2. This is the underlying reason people won't stand up and haven't.
No surprise.

5. This is why it's important to let everyone know that it's already started, it is wonderful,
and it is very happy to see you join in! No more need to isolate and worry, this is about world unity!

3. And so far, none of the many crowds of people who are part of OWS have
Gone to the trouble of calling us Middle Incomed and very concerned people "Retards."

It turns out that We are indeed the Ones that We Have Been Waiting For!

6. Not all change is good
sometimes the people we most want to help are the ones who see the least benefit and sometimes we hurt people we don't intend.
