Iran's alleged Mexican hitman was US drugs informant
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/oct/12/iran-mexico-drug-informant-hitman

The Iranian plot the US government says aimed to murder Saudi Arabia's ambassador to Washington allegedly fell down because a member of the Mexican Zeta drug cartel hired to carry out the job for $1.5m was actually a US informant.

2. Either the guardian is late...
That was in the criminal complaint. You think the cartels are not somewhat penetrated?

testimony

8. Actually I wonder how much of the DEA is compromised
by the Big Three drug cartels in Mexico? Remember, we gave them hundreds of assault weapons...free of charge. Was that a mistake? Granted that was the ATF...but still, I wouldn't be surprised to find out most of the departments are compromised by the very cartels they are supposedly fighting.

Think CIA...heroin...Vietnam...and Air America.

A probe to flush out a us asset.

Many of the "friends" of this guy are currently missing a head, literally.

12. Yup...
The cartels are paramilitaries...but to hire one you need to flush them spies from the other side.

15. The corrupt fictional DEA portrayed in "Leon the Professional" is mild compared to the folks that
"routinely" get away with things like USC Title 18 Section 242 Deprivation of Rights Under Color of Law-I know this through personal experiences trying to bring an operative (murderer and human trafficker) to justice here in The United States of America. This operative is alive and in some kind of "protective" program sponsored by the DEA according to my local sheriff.

Hmmm...Iran, Central American drug cartels, Saudis, October-it reminds me of some "hidden histories" (started 10-12-11)

16. The Wingnuts/ Baggers/ Minutemen loved the original story as the MISSING LINK
All this time they have frothed over the SOUTHERN border as a security threat, using 9-11 as the cover for their concern over security.

They thought this was the missing link that would have justified all of their frothing. The drug cartels have their own parochial wars as their total interest.
