Feds to target newspapers, radio for marijuana ads
Edited on Sun Oct-16-11 02:34 AM by DreamSmoker
Not only has Due Process of Law been thrown out the window as far as American Justice and Our Civil Rights are concerned..
Guns last week and now this. This Week its back to that so called Drug War.. Only its Americans in America that are in the Feds cross Hairs.. Feds invading Several Medical Cannabis States to make their point..
Now Americans are in deep trouble..
So many of us have lost Our Jobs, Our Homes, Our retirement, and now this Government and This Administration is now turned inward overstepping our rights to achieve its agendas..
This alone is a good reason to hit the Streets and join the 1% ....

Federal prosecutors are preparing to target newspapers, radio stations and other media outlets that advertise medical marijuana dispensaries in California, another escalation in the Obama administration's newly invigorated war against the state's pot industry.

This month, U.S. attorneys representing four districts in California announced that the government would single out landlords and property owners who rent buildings or land where dispensaries sell or cultivators grow marijuana. Now, newspapers and other media outlets could be next.

U.S. Attorney Laura E. Duffy, whose district includes Imperial and San Diego counties, said marijuana advertising is the next area she's "going to be moving onto as part of the enforcement efforts in Southern California." Duffy said she could not speak for the three other U.S. attorneys covering the state but noted their efforts have been coordinated so far.

"I'm not just seeing print advertising," Duffy said in an interview with California Watch and KQED. "I'm actually hearing radio and seeing TV advertising. It's gone mainstream. Not only is it inappropriate – one has to wonder what kind of message we're sending to our children – it's against the law."

2. "...one has to wonder what kind of message we're sending to our children"
What message are "we" sending our children who are exposed to ad after ad after ad for truly dangerous prescription and non prescription ads on tv EVERY HOUR?

"Here is a summary list of DTC (Direct-To-Consumer) prescription drug TV ads, along with their published adverse side effects...

Drug manufacturers seek to minimize and trivialize the adverse side effects of the drugs they produce. To present a balanced picture, this page HIGHLIGHTS these adverse side effects. In each case below, THE OFFICIAL INFORMATION IS "QUOTED VERBATIM" (fair use) from the drug companies' websites.

Here is part ONE of Three warnings that the manufacturer (drug dealer) lists JUST for Paxil®:

"WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ANTIDEPRESSANTS AND POSSIBLE SUICIDAL BEHAVIOR OR THINKING?
Paxil is approved only for adults 18 years and over. There are benefits and risks when using antidepressants. Depression and other illnesses can lead to suicidal thoughts or behavior whether or not you are taking antidepressants. In some children and teens, antidepressants increase suicidal thoughts or actions. You and your family should watch closely and call the doctor right away, if you have worsening depression, thoughts of suicide, or sudden or severe changes in mood or behavior (for example feeling anxious, agitated, panicky, irritable, hostile, aggressive, impulsive, severely restless, hyperactive, overly excited, or not being able to sleep), especially at the beginning of treatment or after any change in dose...there are 2 more paragraphs!

Hopefully more and more people will start to ask where the Federal Government gets the authority to dictate the citizens consumption of whatever they damn well please. That will be interesting.

(read the warnings before you take the pink pill)

7. MM Patients in California are PISSED
at Obama. He may just accomplish what so many Republicans have tried to do for years -- put California in play for 2012. I swear if California is so close in 2012 that I'm actually going to have to vote for the conservadem in the White House I'm going to be mad as hell.

10. I remember way back when the FCC banned the 100 "drug oriented" songs
Edited on Sun Oct-16-11 07:48 AM by hobbit709
that radio stations couldn't play. I also remember one DJ coming on and saying he didn't care what the FCC thought and played them in order on his show.
