I stopped reading when I got to that part.

3. Don't they realize they are one crash away from losing their precious "middle" status.
people really need to realize that everyone is under attack by the 1%.

4. It is amazing here. Only the retainer class are against the protesters.
It is cutting across generational and political lines.

5. The percentage game
It's pretty hard to drive a wedge into 99%, but they'll try.

7. Their main point is that they work and pay taxes as if those involved
with OWS do not. Ludicrous.

13. Or That Those Who Don't Work Don't Pay Taxes...
It's usually blurted by some white middle class guy with a serious beer belly. Yep...the impression is us "dirty fuckin' hippies" don't work or that we support those who don't work (and don't forget them illegal aleeenenz). It makes them feel superior as they carry the water of their masters. Mindslaves to the elite.

8. That just pits two equal sized groups against each other.
So it stands for divide and conquer and keep the status quo.

18. Yes, if they can't divide by religion or political parties they'll try some other way to divide us.
There are so many more of us than them.

But don't let lack of brains, inability to count, or facts in general get in their way.

19. The people that work & pay taxes have more in common with the destitute & homeless than the 1%ers.
Until and unless the majority is forced to realize this fact, we're doomed. OWS will help force that realization.

20. They're more like the 23% who will consistently vote against their own interest
because they got sold some line of bullshit when they were kids and they're too stubborn and spiteful to admit that line of bullshit was, well, bullshit.

The OWS movement is dead center, comprised of both left and right. They're the ones who are smart enough to realize they've been screwed without getting kissed and are also smart enough to realize who did it.

I'm afraid these poor deluded schmucks are expecting right wing radio and Pox News to tell them what OWS is all about and they're getting lied to, as usual.

53%, me arse.

22. They are idiots
This is not set up to be an intelligent counter, but a hippie-bashing site, which nulls and voids any intelligent argument. When will wingnuts get this? By underlining "God" and bashing the protesters, they're just sending out a beacon that they have no fucking clue. I am a "middle ground" person -- and, unfortunately, there's more like only 40 percent of us -- and I think we're to blame and Wall St. is most definitely to blame.

We have a democracy in crisis, corruption and tons of government waste. We're uninspired as a people and none of us, it seems believes in real personal responsibility -- which is responsibility both to yourself AND your community.

I agree with them that you DO have to pull yourself up, and being born into poverty is not an excuse for charity -- but when a person who IS making the right choices, and IS trying all the things that he or she can do to make good choices and get upwardly mobile can't get there -- something needs to be fixed.

24. Actually, there is something kind of cool with these articles
They're using our framework.

After decades of RW think tank framing of the nation's debates ("entitlements," "death panels," "Obamacare," etc.), we've finally got something ("the 99%") that THEY are applying as a template to describe their side of the OWS protests.

I was just thinking of how strong of a brand "We are the 99%" is, this most likely manufactured meme only helps to confirm that.
