Looks like a big hanky-panky and ethics scandal is underway in the UK.

At the moment the UK press is reporting that the Secretary of Defense has lied about his very close personal "adviser" who has no security clearance attending meetings in Dubai. This in itself is a big story and it looks like Liam Fox, who was once in the running for the Tory leadership and is friend's with Margaret Thatcher, is probably about to be kicked out of Cabinet.

What adds a layer of intrigue is whether he is a closeted homosexual who married to deflect rumors that he is gay. Given his longtime relationship with his close personal adviser it certainly looks like that is the case. And guess what? According to Pink News, a gay newspaper which interviewed Fox in 2005, Fox voted against "proposals to allow gay couples to adopt children and against the equalling of the age of consent. He did not vote on the Civil Partnerships Act".

I heard NPR (phony shills) pass off this story as just some personality kerfuffle. Now that I hear the real story, it seems like maybe the Brits can give us the evidence to prosecute ALEC.

5. I have since found an excellent piece about Fox from a 2007 blog. Interesting

tidbits such as his hiring Karl Rove when he ran for election. Part of the blog detail the elaborate lengths a PR firm went to protray Fox as a ladies man which makes for a more than amusing read.

Now we don’t give a flying fuck about Dr. Fox’s sexuality – that’s his business. But the politically convenient proposal to Jesme fits in a pattern of using women – from Natalie Imbruglia to Mother Teresa – to further his political career.

Famously – because it was peddled to many newspapers – Liam Fox was “once linked to the singer Natalie Imbruglia”, was “romantically linked to Natalie Imbruglia”, was “seen out with Natalie Imbruglia”, “lists among his friends Natalie Imbruglia” and on and on. How did this unlikely pairing of the former Neighbours rock chick and Liam come about?

Well, according to Liam, he was sent a pre-release copy of Natalie’s first album and sent back a few helpful thoughts on the tracks he’d heard – as you do! Natalie was so delighted to be given such unsolicited singing tuition from someone she’d never heard of that she immediately gave him credits on the album.

From these notes – carefully brought to press attention – Dr. Fox was able to construct his subsequent image as romantically linked to Imbruglia and “sexiest MP” and “ladies man”. The truth is that the whole story was contrived by a go-between with Imbruglia’s management and it’s doubtful if Dr. Fox met Imbruglia more than once. According to his latest spin “he still remains in touch with her” which must be very gratifying to her husband!
