Mass. Dems, EMILY’s List Slam Brown For ‘Thank God’ Joke About Warren
http://2012.talkingpointsmemo.com/2011/10/mass-dems-emilys-list-slam-brown-for-thank-god-joke-about-warren.php?ref=fpa

Elizabeth Warren’s campaign is not directly attacking Sen. Scott Brown (R-MA) for a joke he made this morning on a local talk show, in which he responded “Thank God” to her recent jibe that she “kept my clothes on” when she paid for college — a reference to his nude photo spread in Cosmopolitan in the early 1980s. However, other Democrats and Warren supporters are responding in her place.

(snip)

The Massachusetts Democrats, however, were quick to pounce with a statement given to reporters, from said state party executive director Clare Kelly.

“Sen. Brown’s comments are the kind of thing you would expect to hear in a frat house, not a race for U.S. Senate. We keep waiting for Scott Brown to take his campaign out of the gutter, but unfortunately it seems like the junior senator has determined that mudslinging and dirty tricks are the only way he can distract Massachusetts voters from his record of voting in lockstep with Tea Party Republicans,” said Kelly. “Scott Brown’s comments send a terrible message that even accomplished women who are held in the highest esteem can be laughingly dismissed based on their looks.”

(snip)
(Emily's List)
“Scott Brown’s comments are insensitive, offensive, and show the only thing Scott Brown cares about is Scott Brown. Women are already excited to help put Elizabeth Warren in office and today just solidified their resolve.”

2. I'm sure if women wanted to make fun of Brown's appearance, they could.
He lacks muscle tone, looks like he was rolled in glue and then cat fur, and he can conceal his meat-n-2-veg behind a very thin wrist, for starters!

But don't sink to his level, ladies of Massachusetts!

The media is having a field day with this--they're re-airing it at every newscast. Not good for Space Cadet Scotty!

4. Ok... I know you people at DU are really
fucking sensitive, so you won't mock me.

I'm 68 yrs old and the idea of seeing Elizabeth Warren unclothed may disgust Brown, but it turns me on.

I'm sexually attracted to mature women who are intelligent .

His comment proves to me that he's clueless about the sexiest part of a woman's body... her mind.

7. His comment was weird too since it was addressed to the PAST
It was about her comment about how she put herself through COLLEGE. I'd venture a guess that Elizabeth was pretty cute back then, and probably COULD have gone the "modeling" route if she had chosen to..

All she said was that she kept her clothes on..past tense, Scotty:)

5. Good for Emily's list
Brown is such a jerk, he also called Warren an elitist, the biggest WS hedge fund hog calling others names.

between politicians.

In any case, if the article is accurate, Warren launched the initial salvo.

8. I was thinking the same thing. Unless she was talking about how young women these days
are reportedly using sex or near sex as ways of getting money for college, I don't know what she was referring to though.

If it was about Brown then she started it. If not, come on... who really cares?

9. Exactly...I know this sort feigned outrage is aimed at the middle 10 %ers...
but they do not begin paying attention until the last few weeks before the election.

Like you said, who cares...?
