People have been charged with some insane things for doing so, even when the intention was obviously benign. I know we are taught to relate person to person to them but stop short of touching, or bad things happen fast.

Also, as soon as it looks like kettling or any kind of roundup is happening, head for the port a potty, because once you are arrested, it's a crazy long wait to take a leak. I honestly think it's kind of a retribution for the hassle of dealing with us. When you really have to pee and they won't let you, I know it seems like an overstatement but it feels like a form of torture. So heads up, so to speak!

Don't be afraid, and know we are SO proud of you and grateful to you.
