"GOP seeks independent investigation of Holder" Special Counsel...
http://www.cnn.com/2011/10/04/politics/holder-fast-and-furious/

Washington (CNN) -- The chairman of the House Judiciary Committee called Tuesday for the appointment of a special counsel to investigate whether Attorney General Eric Holder was honest when he testified earlier this year about his knowledge of a now-discredited federal gunrunning operation.

"Allegations that senior Justice Department officials may have intentionally misled Members of Congress are extremely troubling and must be addressed by an independent and objective special counsel," Rep. Lamar Smith, R-Texas, wrote in a letter to President Barack Obama.

Documents leaked on Capitol Hill to CNN and other news organizations purport to show that Holder knew about "Operation Fast and Furious" earlier than indicated when he testified before the Judiciary Committee in May.

The operation involved agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives allowing illegal sales of guns believed to be destined for Mexican drug cartels to "walk" from Phoenix, Arizona, gun stores into Mexico.

1. As an afrerthought, I wonder if Nancy Pelosi regrets her decision to take impeachement off the table
because repubs are as opportunistic as they come, ever-ready to pounce, without shame, or any sense of fairness, upon any perceived misstep. cheney/bush/rummy/rice caused the terrifying deaths of a hundred thousand innocent Iraqis, but we will let that truly unfathomable crime drift into history without seeking to impose any consequence. Democrats have better things to do, evidently. High road and all, I guess, in the name of progress. Like we expect the repubs to behave likewise. And now we have a call for a special counsel. Give this six months, could be a nightmare in an election year, and will be if the repubs have anything to do with it.

First thing we should have done after winning in 2008 was to investigate and prosecute top members of the bush gang.

Eh, armchair quarterback I guess I'm being.

4. Facts are facts armchair or not
More and more each day I'm convinced that the keyboard commanders are going to save our country. Going to the streets isn't it right now because our press is owned by the very people who are abusing us so that is out. The only thing left is the sharp minds and keyboards. They are getting the word out and its slowly but surely taking hold

disclaimer: I'm not one of the sharp minds I speak of but we do have many here who are.
