myFOX New York -- The Occupy Wall St. protest moved east Saturday across the Brooklyn Bridge, snarli

NEW YORK - The Occupy Wall Street protest shut down the Brooklyn Bridge Saturday, stranding motorists as thousands of marchers, who have been camping out in the Financial District for weeks, made their way through lower Manhattan.

About 100 cars were left stuck as the crowd covered the span from end to end in another day of demonstrations against high unemployment, bank bailouts and economic uncertainty for the masses.

One irate driver, a Ground Zero construction worker, blasted the pedestrians.

"I work my ass off all day, and these goddamned hippies close down the Brooklyn Bridge so I can't get home?" he said. "This ain't right!"

1. Construction worker? He should be joining them.
His job is not too secure with repugs in charge. They would rather the country crumble.

And the post office privatized! And we KNOW that the private sector can do it better and cheaper, right? :eyes: Can't wait to see the looks on teabaggers' faces when it cost them $1 to mail a letter.

4. OMG. A HUNDRED CARS?
Please. A Ground Zero construction worker? I first read that phrase as "Ground Zero Rescue Worker," of course. As Fox wanted me to.
Sorry, but a hundred cars ain't much of a jam in New York. And happy as I am that that construction worker has a job ANYWHERE, I'm not going to give him any extra moral weight.

8. However, if they were kettled on the bridge by the police this was
once again a police action - that is caused by the police.

10. I wonder if that's true? That would be illegal, and all those protestors could have
been arrested. Since it was reported by Fox, I'm just wondering.

I watched a story on Fox (O'Leilly and others) the other evening. It was very slanted, of course. They're painting the protesters as what that construction worker said: unemployed hippy types who don't even know why they are there protesting. They said that one guy they spoke to said he had QUIT his job so that he would be able to participate in protests...see, that's what those protesters are all about...not wanting to work.

11. NY construction workers haven't changed their right-wing assholery in 40 years.
They were bashing in hippie heads when I was an infant.
