Google Heavily Criticized For Its ‘Is My Son Gay?’ App For Android
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — It’s true, there’s an app for even that.

A new smart phone program promises to help parents determine their son’s sexuality in a modified version of “20 questions.”

On Tuesday night, CBS 2’s Sean Hennessey took the app controversy to the experts, and you.

Does your son like musical comedies, Madonna, or football? Those are just some of the questions posed in a controversial app aimed at mothers who want to know, “Is my son gay?”

1. good heavens...
I thought this was from the Onion....:eyes:

Does it speak to a larger parenting issue that anyone would think an app is needed? Or even that there is just overwhelming concern so as to need to ascertain IMMEDIATELY whether or not your kid is straight or gay? Is it impossible to support and patiently wait for ones child to determine their own sexual identity on their own and in their own time frame? Really?

geebus...

2. It is NOT "Google's App." It's made by a third party developer.
Google has nothing whatsoever to do with it.

3. More media cluelessness
Under Android, the hardware maker does not have absolute control of the apps which Apple does with its Iphone/Ipad. There are alternative App stores for android based apps, not just Google. It is one of the many better things about Android over Apple.

7. Did Google produce this?

I know it's fashionable to blame Google for things, but I expect this app wasn't written by Google at all. It's moronic, this app, but I doubt that Google spends much time looking at apps. If enough people complain about this, and they should, you can expect Google to pull it.

8. The article said that it was developed by a
French company. They said it was meant to be humorous.

9. Ah, OK. Personally, I don't find it very amusing.
But, then, there are a lot of stupid apps out there.

10. Not funny, stupid & offensive.
:( Pathetic that those three concepts apply to so much these days.
