1. My town: Blood and Treasure.
I have no idea how much my town proportion would be but we have lost some special people with bright futures. I also have no idea of injuries that will change the lives of many.

Whatever the cost, it is far too much.

4. To me the cost is several friends who are dead, others with lives destroyed, and devastated families
I'll let others worry about their personal loss in dollars.

7. Thanks.
During the Bush years we had town meetings explaining exactly how much it was costing our region, per city, county and state. Our legislature tried to pass measures to stop the flow of money to D.C. And we tried to get impeachment from the grass roots up.

Here is a link of Obama on the campaign trail going into the details for the area that he was visiting, explaining the debt growing with China, and what that money would buy that district:

I used to ask people on other websites, what did those foreign nations or investors get in collateral for those loans. I never got an answer. I'm sure people at DU have an inkling.

My contention is that our manufacturing bases and resources were the collateral. With that gone, the alleged liberty and freedom and security gained from going to war become moot points.
