3. Best host on all of cable news
Does not have the pizazz of Olbermann (or his arrogance), but she brings a level of intellectual sharpness that is badly missing on TV today.

9. I dread to think that he will eventually die. I love him so much.
Many years ago he answered a letter my sister wrote to him.

It makes me sad to see him all old like this.

11. He's so much like my dad it's incredible.
My dad even has a wood shop.

I grew up around people very much like Jimmy Carter. Imagine my shock when I discovered that so many in this country are unconscious and worse. For lack of the proper wordage.

Jimmy Carter has a special place
in our family. I was in a rope line once w/ my, then 6 yr old, daughter and my 10 month son in a backpack. Carter reached up and squeezed my son's cheeks and started to turn away when my daughter caught his eye. She was tiny and wore very thick glasses. He turned back and squatted down to her level, put his hand on her shoulder and talked to her. I think he saw a child reminding him of his daughter. My daughter remembers all this vividly.

You can tell when someone has love in their heart. I don't know how he does it. I'm so cynical now. I try.

18. Wtf?! Yes she is ...
And was particularly so doing this interview.

As is with most people, her appearance changes every few years.

19. she is indeed
I missed the interview but I'm guessing that she wasn't wearing that atrocious blue or pink or purple eyeshadow that makeup people sometimes put on her. This usually happens when she's in studios away from home and I can't imagine what those makeup artists are thinking. She is not a blue or pink or purple eyeshadow person, y'all. Nothing could be more obvious. Browns and neutrals ONLY. It's not rocket science to anybody with eyeballs.

Why on earth do I feel so strongly about Rachel Maddow's eyeshadow? That's kind of weird, isn't it? :)

Oh! There's one more thing I feel strongly about! Why can't her fellow MSNBC hosts get together over coffee and come up with a consistent way to pronounce her last name?

25. Carter's book in which he consolidated his diary while he was President
Edited on Fri Sep-16-11 05:37 AM by lunatica
And they talked about the Presidential candidates and Obama's probable win in 2012.

But mostly they talked about stuff in his book. His observations at the time. An example is he thought Reagan was affable and that his conversation was mostly about a few anecdotes he had memorized and that he didn't seem to listen when anyone talked to him. Carter also thinks that President Obama is doing what he should as far as using the bully pulpit right now. He says going directly to the people is good, and that Obama should create his legislation in the White House and present it to Congress. He did that and passed more legislation than any other President except Lyndon Johnson even though he was there for only one term.

And he firmly believes that Obama will win in 2012. He also believes religion should be kept separate from governance. He never invited Billy Graham to the White House for that reason.

23. I thought the same thing watching her interview President Carter
And I'm also a fan of his.

It's amazing that Carter and Ford only used the tax dollars allotted to Presidential campaigns. I didn't know his administration passed so much legislation which they drew up at the White House.
