3. It won't be that easy

At least as of March of this year, he was running, sad but true, at 73% approval.

But the DSCC received some bad news this week when a poll it commissioned found that Brown's popularity is soaring. The survey, which has been seen by at least one D.C. insider and was detailed for Salon, measured Brown's approval rating at 73 percent -- easily surpassing the scores for Barack Obama and the state's two top Democrats, Gov. Deval Patrick and Sen. John Kerry.

I worked the ground for a number of years in Massachsetts, was a state convention delegate, a Dem. Town Committee member, and a founding member of Progressive Democrats of Massachusetts. But I know how conservative a lot of people who wear the Democratic label are there. I hope she wins, but I wouldn't take it for granted for a second.
