In less than 30 minutes I will be forgetting 9/11. If you mention it to me, be ready to explain what happened because I won't know about it. The reason I'm forgetting is that remembering this day has served as justification for way too much bad shit. I don't want to partake in a collective memory that is used to our detriment. I don't want to partake in a collective memory that has served to justify taking so many lives, wasting so much of our nation's resources, and shredding our rights and civil liberties. I cannot in good conscience remember. So I will forget.

as if they think we are children.

I lost a friend on that day. I lost a part of my childhood that day. I lost a part of who I am that day. I lost moments and times that day.

my sorrow is my own.

is that thousands (1000's!) of children die EVERYDAY because of hunger...

In these United States, thousands of people have no home to go to each night, children go hungry, are abused and need a caring compassionate society (gov't) to help them.

Thousands of people have no healthcare, no job and no hope of getting one because our society (gov't) refuses to help make work for them.

I remember the good that can be done when we care about each other and act collectively...
