Let us Mourn ALL the victims of 9/11...
Edited on Sun Sep-11-11 01:50 AM by Ken Burch
-All those who died in the WTC, the Pentagon, and that field in Pennsylvania.

-All those who died in the war our leaders started in Iraq, a country that had no involvement in the attack on the U.S.

-All those who died in the war those same leaders started and still refuse to end in Afghanistan, a country where few people if anyone had any real connection to the attack on the U.S.

-All those who lost their lives, their health, or the services they needed to carry on with dignity in THIS country, and around the world, as a result of our leaders' arrogant decision that the only possible response to an attack by a few was to declare war against the many.

-Everyone who lost rights, hopes, and dreams of a better life, here and abroad, as the result of a cynical plot by our "leaders" to use the attack on this country as an excuse to impose an agenda of death and fear on a world that is begging for life.

Let us honor the victims. Let us work for a world without war, greed, suffering, fear and hopelessness. Such a world is the only world where the events of that day will not be repeated.

The way to remember the victims is to work for future WITHOUT victims. A world of life, not death.

5. Oh, pure, sweet Gold.
I rejoice when I hear posts like this, posts by awake people. The remind me of a simple truth: we are winning.

an attack by a few was to declare war against the many

Two buildings fell. And EVERYTHING that America stood for was asked to be given up as a response. We were told we needed to have our genitals groped by TSA, we needed to accept constant surveillance, all in the name of this human sacrifice in NYC. But a large majority of Americans, people like you, simply aren't that scared. We understand that "live free or die" is enshrined in our national identity - its not worth it to sacrifice our liberties for so called "safety". We understand this illusion they are attempting to ensnare Americans with is deeply WEAK in the eyes of anyone who is spiritually aware enough to realize death is just another part of life.

The lies are crumbling, and those invested are beginning to realize what their position in history will really be. The ruthlessly unfolding moral awakening of mankind is the fundamental truth here, and its call to the righteous to "soldier on" is heard by all of us.

PEace,
NIR

10. Right on.
:toast: The culture of freedom died that day along with the thousands of victims. America became a nation afraid of its own shadow.
Well our government did, anyway. Then they imposed that fear on everyone else.

15. Get the feeling an incredible number of Americans do not care a whit/give a rat's ass
about the countless innocent victims of our nation's actions in the aftermath of 9-11. Why is this? The media? A lack of caring/empathy or not knowing/caring about right/wrong or the niceties required by international convention? :patriot:

18. it's hard to picture innocent victims
in an action film. Plus, in a society founded by Puritans, people in this country have been raised to doubt that anyone(including themselves)could ever BE an innocent victim. We're trained to believe that if someone is oppressed or suffering, they probably deserve it.

the first 9/11 by any means, nor will it be the last.

N.B. On 9/11/73, the Chilean military staged a successful coup against the leftist president Salvador Allende and put the right-wing Pinochet into power (with the help and connivance of Henry Kissinger and our very own CIA).

Thanks for bringing that up:

Here's the English translation of the text of Salvador Allende's farewell speech on Radio Magallanes(the only radio station the U.S.-backed fascist usurpers hadn't forced off the air as of yet. Allende would die of a gunshot wound a short-time later):

Surely this will be the last opportunity for me to address you. The Air Force has bombed the antennas of Radio Portales and Radio Corporación.

My words do not have bitterness but disappointment. May they be a moral punishment for those who have betrayed their oath: soldiers of Chile, titular commanders in chief, Admiral Merino, who has designated himself Commander of the Navy, and Mr. Mendoza, the despicable general who only yesterday pledged his fidelity and loyalty to the Government, and who also has appointed himself Chief of the Carabineros .

Given these facts, the only thing left for me is to say to workers: I'm not going to resign! Placed in a historic transition, I will pay for the loyalty of the people with my life. And I say to them that I am certain that the seeds which we have planted in the good conscience of thousands and thousands of Chileans will not be shriveled forever.

They have force and will be able to dominate us, but social processes can be arrested by neither crime nor force. History is ours, and people make history.

Workers of my country: I want to thank you for the loyalty that you always had, the confidence that you deposited in a man who was only an interpreter of great yearnings for justice, who gave his word that he would respect the Constitution and the law and did just that. At this definitive moment, the last moment when I can address you, I wish you to take advantage of the lesson: foreign capital, imperialism, together with the reaction, created the climate in which the Armed Forces broke their tradition, the tradition taught by General Schneider and reaffirmed by Commander Araya, victims of the same social sector who today are hoping, with foreign assistance, to re-conquer the power to continue defending their profits and their privileges.

I address you, above all, the modest woman of our land, the campesina who believed in us, the mother who knew our concern for children. I address professionals of Chile, patriotic professionals who continued working against the sedition that was supported by professional associations, classist associations that also defended the advantages of capitalist society. I address the youth, those who sang and gave us their joy and their spirit of struggle. I address the man of Chile, the worker, the farmer, the intellectual, those who will be persecuted, because in our country fascism has been already present for many hours -- in terrorist attacks, blowing up the bridges, cutting the railroad tracks, destroying the oil and gas pipelines, in the face of the silence of those who had the obligation to act. They were committed. History will judge them.

Surely Radio Magallanes will be silenced, and the calm metal instrument of my voice will no longer reach you. It does not matter. You will continue hearing it. I will always be next to you. At least my memory will be that of a man of dignity who was loyal to his country.

The people must defend themselves, but they must not sacrifice themselves. The people must not let themselves be destroyed or riddled with bullets, but they cannot be humiliated either.

Workers of my country, I have faith in Chile and its destiny. Other men will overcome this dark and bitter moment when treason seeks to prevail. Go forward knowing that, sooner rather than later, the great avenues will open again and free men will walk through them to construct a better society.

Long live Chile! Long live the people! Long live the workers!

These are my last words, and I am certain that my sacrifice will not be in vain, I am certain that, at the very least, it will be a moral lesson that will punish felony, cowardice, and treason.

Santiago de Chile, 11 September 1973

And here's a recording of the speech as read by President Allende himself:

26. That is one hell of a farewell statement! Can't believe sometimes
that Kissinger still walks around a free man today (for this crime and for his many crimes against southeast Asia).

I really appreciated your OP and did not intend my reply in any way as a criticism of it but more as an elaboration upon your theme.

The most unbelievable thing is that there are only a handful of people who make wars happen. The great majority of people just want to live their lives peacefully. War is not a natural human activity nor is it imprinted on our psyches. And those who make wars rarely fight in them.
