Horseback Rider Delivers Medicine After Flooding Closed Road in VT (video)
The Williams River flooded Route 103 in Rockingham, Vermont, closing the road. This horseback rider rode through the flood water to deliver a bag of medicine, and then went back across.

3. It was interesting watching the trucks watch the horse cross the raging river
The horse didn't have to worry about its engine stalling.

10. Back in the late 1940's the was a massive snow storm in Northern Ohio. My late father
who was just a child at the time, rode his horse Dolly through miles of massive snow drifts to bring his neighbors food and medicine. The weather conditions lasted for a couple of weeks and by the time it began to thaw my dad was known as a hero throughout the County. That was one of the fondest memories of his childhood.
