Another storm on its way
Tropical Depression 12 will probably be a category 2 hurricane by Friday. It will be very near Peurto Rico by around next Monday.

Something to watch and plan for but no sweats just yet. :) Who knows, it may even turn north.

1. What a season. Normally, the 'E' and 'F' named storms hit in the
1st or 2nd week of September. Here we're up to 'J' and still in August.

When Floyd (another September storm) did so much damage to SE NC, it was only because the ground had been thoroughly saturated by previous storms. Irene moving through is only part of the story - what happens when the season goes into high gear in September, following in her footsteps?

4. Actually, I believe Jose was the one that didn't present hazards to land.
This one is a new one and I don't think they know yet.

5. what makes it creepier is that the storm's name would be Katia, which replaced Katrina in 2005
bad omen

6. If it stays on the current track it won't harm Puerto Rico
Looks like the Bahamas could get hit again. It all depends upon the pressure systems to the west and wind shear. If there's enough pressure to "push" the storm it will turn north or even northeast. If there's weak pressure it could easily hit FL, GA. or even take the same path as Irene. Let's hop it hangs and ricky and just goes out into the North Atlantic.
