Could Irene become the economic stimulus?
Or, will the pukes resist the cleanup and repair?

Hmmm

1. Well, its probably not going to be that major of a storm.
And, I don't think Katrina cleanup proved to be a major economic stimulus. More of a drag on the system overall.

2. New York will get cleaned up.
Rich people live there, unlike New Orleans.

There probably won't be the same kind of damage, but there certainly will be a lot of it.

3. Yeah but Cantor says any "disaster relief appropriated" must be offset by spending cuts. No joke.
Where was he when they kept voting to fund the wars under Bush? And Afghanistan for Obama? They never worried how THAT would be paid for...it's our money...and they act like children playing King and Queens....

4. It will be a good opportunity for wealthy to show their willingness
To donate for good causes. How many do you think will take advantage and chip in?

5. The jobs that are going to be created
by the Irene cleanup and repair require skills that don't match those of most unemployed folks. And they are temporary.

This economy will not be fixed by adding summer jobs. We need long-term permanent jobs paying good wages.

Ain't happening

6. Only if it hits the Hamptons
They're the only ones with ready cash to rebuild what gets damaged.
