Letter to My Representative
Edited on Fri Aug-26-11 02:33 PM by Angry Dragon
TO: Rep. John Kline
RE: Meeting My Representative

August 26,2011

Dear Rep. Kline and staff,

I need to apologize for not understand the rules on talking to Rep. Kline either on the phone, answering my numerous questions, or meeting him face to face. I am so sorry.

I just read the other day that if someone wanted to spend quality time with John Kline all the had to do was come up with some cash. I wish someone would have told me this. The other day I ran across an e-mail telling everyone they could get some quality time with Rep. Kline and all they had to do was to start bidding at $250. See it was an auction. I had heard rumors that some politicians could be bought or rented but I just could not believe that was true. I guess this e-mail proves me wrong.

I remember in the old days of politics one could meet their politician without passing them some money. I met Rep. Karth out of the 4th District and Sen. Mondale without anyone passing them the greenbacks. Perhaps that was because they were Democrats. They must not have read the rules yet.

I am not sure of the going rate for talking to Republican Congressional people. How much does it cost for one hour of the Representative’s time? Does one pay by the minute or the hour, does it cost $500, $5,000, $10,000 or if one comes up with $174,00, does one then own the Representative for a full year?

Now if someone could get back to me and tell me how much it will cost to have a frank and honest discussion with Rep. Kline I would really appreciate that.

It is so sad that the members of Congress are so under paid that they must prostitute themselves to earn some extra money so they do not fall out of the upper 10% of wage earners in this country. I would not want them to go hungry or homeless as so many of the unclean and lazy people do everyday in this country.

Again I must ask for your forgiveness in not understanding that one must pay extra for the privilege to actually stand within the same circle as the Representative.

edit: added .. Follow the Money,

Here's his response:

Dear Constituent:

Thank you for your letter. I look forward to hearing from my constituents. As you know, I need your support in 2012. You may send your donations at any time.

Sincerely,

John Kline

4. I was told by one of his District staff that all of my concerns
are really passed on to kline and I should be satisfied with that
there was no need for the congressman to personally reply to me
and I did not have the right to meet him face-to-face

5. In all fairness, there is no way a Member can answer personally every single question. Which is why
town halls are a great thing. Too bad most aren't doing them this year...

8. I do understand that a congressperson can not personally answer
every question put to him/her.
My rep likes telephone town halls
he had one at the beginning of August
He states 1000 joined in and it lasted for one hour
that breaks down to 3.6 seconds per person
He also had some face-to-face town halls with the Chamber
His office actually called these town halls
now isn't that nice. He can spend time with corps but not the people
He had golf outing with boner that cost $10,000 or $1000 if you just wanted lunch
another outing on Sept.1 that costs about $150
more if you want to spend quality time with him ........ limited to 5 people

6. Frankly, I wouldn't trust myself to meet him face-to-face.
I'm afraid my words might offend women and children nearby.

7. I wish this garbanzo would change his name
John Kline in the 19th century was a Church of the Brethren minister who tended to the needs of folks on both sides of the Civil War. For his trouble at the age of 67, he was shot for being a suspected spy.

The latter-day John Kline is not fit, in my opinion, to scoop up the leavings of the other John Kline's horse Nell.

9. I'm just thinking. Since they were auctioning themselves off
on Ebay, or wherever, can We The People auction them off as well? We do pay for them, so technically, now that they are up for sale, we have a right to some of the profits, don't we?

Bear with me for a minute. What if we put up a page on Ebay promising face time with them for money. Then we call their offices and tell them we will pay them part of the proceeds for them to meet with whoever pays up. They get 10% we keep 80% and use it to fund their Progressive Democratic challengers.

We should incorporate first, 'WeThePeople. Inc' eg. I might be wrong, but wouldn't that just be an example of the free market working to promote business in the finest Republican traditions?

They have made themselves mere commodities, and as such, we the people own part of them, since we pay for them, why can we not sell them also?

What fun!

10. You might have a fight with the corporations
I figure the corporations already think they own them and would want a cut also

but it is a good thought

perhaps we could trade them to the Chinese for some of the debt they hold
