Any state whose governor is against government
should not qualify for either updates from the NHC or for Federal aid after a natural disaster or emergency situation.

1. I agree, in theory....
but who would really get hurt? Probably not the governor or his/her rich cronies.

2. Well when you vote for someone who states that his role is to destroy
government, you have to live with the consequences. True those who didn't vote for the moron also suffer, but that is life. People must learn to think before they vote.

If a woman decided to live with a man who publicly stated over and over that men have the right to beat their women, how would people react when he beats her to death?

3. This seems kind of weird coming from you.
I voted in the gubernatorial election - and, of course, I voted for the Dem (Deeds). McDonnell won by 17 percentage points.
I (and my family) should suffer by our state receiving no funds in a disaster because my Governor is a shithead?

8. I too battle with taking such a hard line
for the reason you state, but we need to make all citizens know what they are doing when they vote for these morons.

4. So true.
Because I live in Florida, home of the assholes pRick Scott, Rubio, and Jebbie-boy, etc., I am living the consequences. And I'm fighting.

15. As a Floridian, we are living the consequences of other people's stupid choices...
but to say "but that's life" is dismissive and blaming the victim. There are millions here who did NOT vote for that asshole. The democratic party failed us in a huge way last election season and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

6. 1) I doubt most people would blame the victim who was beaten to death.
That's way too close to 'look what you made him do.'

2) The citizens in a state - even one governed by an anti-government, proto-secessionist - still pay federal taxes and are entitled access to the services and resources they've paid for, regardless of who the state's chief executive is.

12. But the people who didn't vote for him DID think before they voted. (n/t)

14. "...but that is life."
I am so sorry to see you post something like that. People in states like FL are really suffering under pRick Scott and most of us who voted did NOT vote for that jerk. Why would you be so dismissive of those who are in need the most yet didn't vote for the man, yet we are subjected to more ridicule by statements such as that.

5. I got a better one. Any state whose governor is against government should recuse him/herself of any
government position.

7. Any governor who claims they are against government is a liar.
What they're against is state and federal money not flowing to them and their cronies.

10. As a Floridian, if we get smacked with a hurricane....
...I don't want to be punished simply because of the douchenozzle in the Governor's Mansion.

13. Less government does not mean no government
If it did, the majority of Republicans would be Democrats.

16. I'll go one better. How can any governor that
doesn't believe in government be expected to govern? Or at least govern well. If you don't believe in government, yet you still seek public office there are ONLY THREE REASONS FOR IT:

1) Ideological. You want to destroy government from the inside.
2) Criminal. You want to get as much as you can personally from government for yourself or your cronies.
3) Some combination of 1 & 2.

THERE IS NO OTHER REASON FOR SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T BELIEVE IN GOVERNMENT TO SEEK PUBLIC OFFICE, EXCEPT FOR THE ABOVE THREE.
